Research Park's Duffell on the need for nurturing economic development.
It’s International Economic Development Week, started by the non-profit International Economic Development Council in Washington, D.C. to highlight the importance of ongoing efforts to grow high-paying jobs and prosperity throughout the U.S. In addition, the Florida Economic Development Council's annual conference runs through May 9 at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale.
With this in mind, I couldn’t help but think of how our state is currently debating the benefits of financial incentives for business and whether to preserve or kill Enterprise Florida, the state agency that works with local economic development organizations.
