About the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University®

Company growth and sustainability hinges on having a community assembled behind it, private and public-sector stakeholders who share a vested interest in advancing the creation and success of businesses. The Research Park at Florida Atlantic University® is a community where entrepreneurs, academics and service providers come together to collaborate and develop a sense of identity.

The Research Park at Florida Atlantic University® was created in 1985 by the County commissions of Broward and Palm Beach counties, along with Florida Atlantic University.  The Research Park incorporates and encourages interactions between our companies, mentors, investors, service providers, government entities and large corporations, as well as FAU’s talent pool to inspire innovation.

New businesses are an important source of job growth and are vital to our economic strength. In 2000, the Research Park recognized the need to nurture regional entrepreneurs and created the Technology Business Incubator® (TBI).  The TBI serves to assist start-up companies by providing high value resources that are critical to their growth and success. At 15,000 square feet, the TBI is home to 23 high-tech start-ups as well as the New World Angels and the Institute for Commercialization of Public Research.

The Research Park is an innovative hub with a common purpose to build an entrepreneurial community where serendipitous encounters that inspire creativity, innovation and collaboration. It is important for the community to have a place where entrepreneurs can come together, discuss ideas and benefit from the insight of those who have experience.

It is our mission to create and sustain the ideal environment for innovation and invention, maximizing the academic and entrepreneurial talent and regional resources in South Florida to accelerate economic development and prosperity.
