TBI Highlights
The Technology Business Incubator is an important asset to entrepreneurs emerging from FAU – students, recent graduates and faculty. The TBI gives them a location in which to base their company while remaining close to the facilities of the University, and access to outside sources of knowledge and input. Since 2009 the Research Park has actively supported FAU’s Business Plan Competition and has awarded free space to the winner.
The 2009 recipient of this prize was Psygineering, which is still an active resident of the incubator. This promising company of engineering students is developing a brain-machine interface (BMI) platform that uses brain-wave emissions to control electro-mechanical devices and provide neuro-feedback analyses. PsyBox, Psygineering’s proprietary platform, integrates standard off-the-shelf neural sensors with electro-mechanical actuators for use in the medical, industrial, professional athletics, and military/aerospace sectors.
