Stacy A. Volnick is a longtime member of the Florida Atlantic University community, having received her bachelor’s degree in communication and her master's degree in education leadership. She became a member of the University's administrative staff in 1991, advancing steadily through the ranks. With over thirty years in higher education administration experience, she now serves as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President for Administrative Affairs . In this role, she oversees the administrative or operational units of the university including Public Safety, Facilities Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, Business Services, Emergency Management, Board of Trustee Operations, President’s Office Operations, the Eleanor R. Baldwin House (the President's on-campus residence), Real Estate Development,  and the University Ombudsman. Additionally, Ms. Volnick administratively oversees the Offices of the Inspector General and University Compliance.

During her tenure at Florida Atlantic University, Ms. Volnick has served in several interim roles including Interim Vice President, Institutional Advancement, Interim Vice President, Financial Affairs and Chief Financial Officer, interim oversight over Public Affairs, and Interim Inspector General.

Ms. Volnick is a proud first-generation student being the first in her family to receive a college degree.  Recently, she was an honorary inductee into Alpha Alpha Alpha, a first gen honor society. Ms. Volnick is a doctoral candidate in the department of Education and Research Methodology in FAU’s College of Education perusing a degree in Higher Education Leadership.  Her research interest is a focus on woman university presidents with a dissertation title of:  Women University Presidents Who Break Through the Glass Ceiling:  At What Price?
